Atonement

When we are down and troubled
when we're at our lowest low,
when all around have failed us
and we've nowhere else to go.

We lean upon the Saviour
our Redeemer Friend and King,
because we often read about
the peace that He can bring.

Through his atoning sacrifice
we may reach a greater height,
for He decended below all things
so He could give us light.

He's been lower than our lowest low
and felt the pain we feel,
which is why its possible
for Him to help us heal.

We just need to accept Him
and seek Him in our prayers,
and after all our struggles
we'll be with Him joint heirs.
